Lorelei Kurimski joined APHL two-and-a-half years ago as director of Quality Systems and Analytics (QSA) in Silver Spring, MD. In this role she leads APHL initiatives focused on managing knowledge, data collection and analysis, data inventories and visualization, monitoring and evaluation, the quality management system and the public health laboratory system, accreditations, and continuous quality improvement. Prior to joining APHL, her career spans almost three decades across a state public health laboratory, department of natural resources, and environmental research. Her experiences range from strategic planning, organizational change and workforce development, quality, continuous quality improvement, and systems design to science topics such groundwater studies, inspections, and monitoring. She has a BS from Western Illinois University, a MS from the University of Iowa, is a former examiner for Iowa Performance Excellence program (Malcolm Baldrige), and is certified as a Lean Master in Healthcare.
